What we say
Come as you are WeHo bar, without the WeHo attitude
Not relying on weekly events, Motherlode can pack a large regular bar crowd. Some describe it as a dive bar, but the drinks are as strong as the men are numerous.

as long as your gay! My best friends Brother whom I call brother as well is a beautiful gay male! He celebrated his birthday Saturday night and our 1st stop was Mother Load! I was told it was an amazing laid back bar, with good drinks and great atmosphere. Well all that is true but don't dare bring your str8 BF in their with your gay friends! As we all have many types of friends, we all joined in the birthday festivities gay, and str8 alike!
We (the str8 ppl) were treated very poorly by the bar tender and we were very appalled at how he chose to speak about us and how it's just wrong to bring str8 men into a gay bar! I couldn't believe it! We voted for your rights buddy!! Yes us str8 people!
I was raised by a gay man, and have many gay friends...and I have never been treated that way before. I was always more comfortable in gay bars than str8 ones! I'm constantly educating others on gay rights and issues and I will press forward and that bar tender won't change my attitude but let it be known!
I'll stay in the LBC next time where my friends are and it's not so up tight & stuffy!!!

There is a great group of relaxed Hot All-American guys who go there just to play pool. Of course, I go to watch the guys who go to play the pool. The crowds at other bars are too mixed for me (young and old) plus there is no cover on New Year's eve at Motherlode. What more could you ask?

The crowds in West Hollywood can get a little stuffy at times. That's why I normally duck in the Motherlode for great drink prices, and a relaxed crowd. After a good buzz, I head around the corner to such places as Here or the Abbey.

Motherlode was the first gay bar I ever entered and it was friendly and endearing. Mark, the bartender, always remembered us and often comped us drinks. But the music changed after a while and we found ourselves meandering to other bars on the boulevard. It is still a good old fashioned kind of gay bar.

This is a place to have a good time and meet new friends. The men are friendly. The bartenders are hunky and the drinks are cheap. A great place to hang out and do nothing but cruise, drink, or chat.
