One of the original dance bars in L.A. And it's still a good dance club with a diverse clientele. Saturday night is the big Disco Night with DJ's of various abilities, but the rest of the week has couples dancing with a concentration on country/western. Lots of line dancing, too. There are usually free lessons early, before the place gets crowded. The crowd is mostly 30+ and very little attitude. If you don't like dancing and are looking for 20 something twinks, you won't like it here.

Only The Best Can Survive! Sounds Like Oil Can Harry's!

The club was founded back in 1971 by Bert Charrot who hired Bob Tomasino during the mid 1970's to be his doorman and later club manager and ran the bar from 1978 up to 2013 until he Bert passed away and then Bob took over! This club is very important since they have many celebrity clients and specialize in Disco Music from the 1970's - 1980's and they really cater to their customers music tastes by playing really Good Music and were best known for being the Top Disco Bar Of The 1970's! Historical Information: They are known for being the Oldest Gay Bar West Of The Mississippi, Believe It Or Not? Furthermore, they cater to customers from all walks of life throughout the LGBT and Straight Communities with absolutely No Attitudes or Trouble! They have a lot of great events going on all the time and I am going to name some of them. On the 2nd and 3rd Sunday of the Month from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Lori Donato has a Jazz Club with a 4 Piece Band with Live Singing. If you bring in your own sheet music, she will play your songs. Karaoke: They have been hosting Fantastic Karaoke Nights on Wednesdays from 9:00 p.m. - 12:30 a.m. and on Fridays/Saturdays from 10:00 p.m. - 2:00 a.m. Learn Line Dancing: They have been hosting an ongoing School for Line Dancing for Singles and Couples which are held on Tuesdays and Fridays from 9:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. Happy Hour: That is held Monday to Fridays from 3:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Last, but Not Least, they run a successful club with 18 employees to keep them Strong and have a Minimal Door Charge of only $5.00 on Saturday Nights. If You Love Disco Music, then this is the Place to be! For More Information on their weekly events, please sign up for their email blast through the website: www. oilcanharrysla.com Thank you. Sincerely yours, Howard Paul Shore Customer, Reviewer And Promoter /HPS

Fun night out

Fun club in the heart of Austin. No cover on a Saturday night & decent priced drinks. Good crowd mix of ages & races.

LA's Hidden Gem

This bar is, without a doubt, my favorite gay bar in Los Angeles. They teach country line dances to top 40s and country hits every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday night; karaoke on Fridays and Saturdays upstairs; retro disco on Saturdays; and they host Beer Busts, West Coast Swing Lessons, and drag shows on Sundays. They have a great jovial atmosphere, the people are very friendly, the DJ spins great records, and the drinks are inexpensive. Throw on your jeans and boots / dancing shoes and just go.
