L.A. A Queer History has been a passion project for Mario J. Novoa and I for about two years now. We're coming up on the end of production and all costs so far have been out of pocket. But we don't have money to finish the film.
Post production costs are higher because they require hiring skilled technicians for color correction, sound mixing, animation, music, etc.
Join us for a night with some of the most talented and legendary people in our Los Angeles Queer community.

SCREENING:
Our 7 min short film, NANCY FROM EAST SIDE CLOVER is currently making its way around the festival circuit, playing next at the Seattle Lesbian & Gay Film Festival on October 18th.
Growing up poor, Chicano, a woman and a lesbian in mid 20th century East L.A., Nancy Valverde’s life was a constant uphill battle, complicated by the fact that she preferred the comfort of men’s clothes; a “misdemeanor crime” which she was routinely arrested for. Now at age 83 Nancy’s lifelong defiance and resilience to maintain her self identity as a butch lesbian, has garnered her legendary status in the Los Angeles LGBTQ community.
