Now in its 10th year, Akabal Theatre revives Under My Skin written by Emanuel Loarca, Fernanda Milán, and Victoria García Peña, directed by Emanuel Loarca, produced by Laura Figueroa and Loarca, choreographed by Beatriz Eugenia Vasquez. Light Designed by Maarten Cornelis. Costumes Design by Jillian Clark. Set and Props Master Adalberto Lujan. Stage Manager Morgan Leigh. Under My Skin is produced in association with the Macha Theatre and is a guest production.
While at a wedding, six characters share their personal experiences, based on real life stories, about being different, being rejected, and just wanting to be loved unconditionally. This dramedy explores what lives under the skin of survivors of intolerance, homophobia, and transphobia enhanced with song, and movement celebrating the joy of culture, unbreakable faith and the power of self-acceptance. Performed in English and Spanish with subtitles in both languages. March 26th – April 23rd. Thursdays at 8PM. Pre-show at 7:30pm. Opens Thursday, March 26th with reception to follow. Tickets: $25.
