You may be asking why chose to name the event Op: DADT 2015? Well, let us tell you. Our event was created as a way of remembering the anniversary of the Repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”, the law barring anyone who identified as LGBT from serving in the US Military. On 21 September 2012 the ban was finally lifted and open service was effective from then on, however this change in the law did not affect our Trans Brothers and Sisters. Operation: Do Ask, Do Tell 2015 was born as a way of bringing to light that even though the law may have changed, many members of the LGBT & Veteran Communities still face discrimination, alienation, and the like.
Meet with employers, the representatives from the VA (Healthcare, Benefits, Cemetery), organizations & service providers from around Los Angeles.
Open to all members of the Los Angeles community with a focus on LGBT Veterans.
