An evening of music from four distinct voices within the Los Angeles community benefiting IRIS (Interfaith Refugee and Immigration Service), an organization that provides resettlement services here in LA to children and adults forcibly displaced from their homes around the world. In 2016 IRIS anticipates refugees from Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and the former Soviet Union. This crisis has been felt around the globe, but even in our own city we have a chance to help support our new neighbors who have been forced to start their lives over in an unfamiliar place.
The mission of Interfaith Refugee and Immigration Service (IRIS) is to provide a gracious welcome as well as tangible tools and connections to help new arrivals achieve self-sufficiency in the United States. IRIS has several programs including: refugee resettlement, immigration legal services, refugee employment program, cultural orientation, food pantry program and an ESL/Civics program.
