The FIOB, CIELO, CHEBAN will be hosting its first Indigenous Literature conference in Los Angeles. We will be hosting panels from July 30 - 31st. The first panel will showcase the talents of Indigenous writers from American continent.
The purpose of the conference is to create a space for people of color to showcase and share their work with a wider public, a possibility that is often undermined by mainstream, normative assumptions of what gets to count as "literature.“ It will also serve to promote and revitalize Indigenous languages, due to the fact that many are in danger of being lost. By incorporating issues of languages into non-traditional spaces, the conference is also pioneering new forms of identity formation for a new generation.

El Frente Indígena de organizaciones, Comunidades Indígenas en Liderazgo (CIELO) y CHEBAN presenta su primera conferencia de literatura indígena en los ángeles. Tendremos mesas de diálogos de Julio 30y 31 2016. Donde se presentaran a varios autores de continente Americano.
El fin de la conferencia es crear un espacio para las minorías de presentar y compartir su trabajo con un publico mas amplio que muchas veces son minimisados por la cultura dominate de que se debe de tomar en cuenta como “literatura”. El propósito de la conferencia es la revitalización de las lenguas indígenas en espacios no tradicionales y prionera en la formación de nuevas identidades para nuevas generaciones de indígenas.
