The word "Legend" is banded around all too easily these days. In this instance, it's deservedly used and earned. We're incredibly excited, humbled and honored to play host to a true pioneer of electronic music. The DJ's DJ, Andrew Weatherall.
A key figure in the early UK house movement, he played a pivotal role in firmly stamping Britain's mark on the fledging scene, both as a journalist, establishing the highly revered Boys Own fanzine, with Terry Farley. As DJ, playing at seminal club nights, Shoom ran by Danny Rampling, Paul Oakenfold's Future & Spectrum and Nicky Holloway's Trip. As a producer, overseeing Primal Scream's game changing Screamadelica album, remixing New Order, Bjork, Manic Street Preachers, The Orb and My Bloody Valentine's Soon, which the NME named as the greatest remix of all time and as one half of Two Lone Swordsmen, alongside Keith Tenniswood, signed to Warp and releasing on his own imprint, Rotters Golf Club. More recently forming the club night, A Love from Outer Space with Sean Johnston, which he's taken to some of the best venues across Europe and beyond.
Over the last 30 years, his DJ career has taken him the world over, several times over, but having always stayed away from the US, until now. So it's fair to say, this is a very rare and highly anticipated chance to catch one of electronic music's true living legends in the flesh.
He joins us on Saturday October 15th, for a very special, extended four hour set, alongside LA favorites, Lovefingers of ESP Institute and Heidi Lawden.
21+ / Early arrival is strongly advised
