I'm a little biased due to the fact that I worked for Starwood Hotels and Resorts (The W's parent company) for several years, and I took advantage of the employee rates at many of the properties, including this one. The W is all about Whatever, Whenever... and I've put that to the test ;) The W Westwood is tucked away in a residential area close to UCLA, The Century City Westfield, and one of my favorite sushi spots, Tomodachi Sushi. As Scott pointed out, it's a little bit out of the way from WeHo (about a 10 minute drive to Santa Monica Blvd & Robertson), but it's still one of my favorite sanctuaries in L.A.

I've stayed here a few times (because I've had business in the area) and I highly recommend it. Too often W's can be cold and small - the rooms here are comfortable and reasonably sized - I got rooms with living rooms and desk areas the last three times and they were great. Walk two blocks and you have the funky college town feel of Westwood (UCLA) with some fun little diners and college kids everywhere. You'll need a car if you want to go anywhere else (WeHo, etc), its also quick drive to the Getty from here. The pool area was known (years ago) as the party spot for hollywood, but that seems to have died down thankfully, so you can enjoy the space. Service at the pool isn't great, but it is comfortable. I'd stay here again if I didn't want to be right in WeHo.
So, what do you say?
