Though it's a bit of a trek to the gay hood (you'll need to take a cab), Santa Monica is a laid back and accepting spot to roam the shoreline or check out the many restaurants and shops scattered throughout the area. The Holiday Inn is only a block from the beach, and only a few blocks from the 3rd St. Promenade.
