Hotel Cortez (Closed Permanently)

(19 Ratings)
An unforgettable Art Deco masterpiece opens October 7th
Built in 1930 by the infamous James March, this perfectly stylish art deco masterpiece is now owned by The Countess who resides on site. Don't miss the beautiful old elevator under the sweeping staircase, a work of art missing from most larger hotels. Most of all, stay here for the people, you never know who you might meet in the halls. A word to the wise: some doors are best left unopen, you don’t want to know what lurks in the corners of the Hotel Cortez.

TOO MANY KIDS!

Too many kids running around at all hours of the night. It's like where's your parents?! Luckily the hotel was so beautiful and the staff made me feel like they didn't want me to leave, I'd stay here again.

A head above the rest...

...like, an actual head above the rest. You'll know what I mean when you get there, but fair warning: If you're squeamish around the sight of blood (or body parts, or the undead), then you might want to check out the Embassy Suites down the street. But if curiosity gets the best of you, you'll have one hell of a vacation story to tell. That is, if you make it out alive.

Check in, but dont check out.

Beautiful enchanting hotel. In the City of Angels, this hotel is a mixture of heaven and hell. You can check in, but don't expect to check out. The Countess spared no expenses for her guests. If you want the most exhilarating rest of your life, I suggest the penthouse suite. American Horror Story: Hotel... Premieres on FX Oct 7th!

Stay at your own risk

Stunning interior. Beautiful rooms. Weird place. Heard some strange noises at night. Some of the other guests sort of freaked me out. And the staff seemed like they were not all there in head. Ended up checking out early.
