Vegetarian food so good you won't miss the meat
This small pub serves amazing vegetarian food mostly to hip bicyclists and community college students (it's located across from LA Community College). The house specialty is jackfruit "carnitas"— a meat substitute made from a pineapple relative that has a wonderful texture and is well seasoned. There's also an excellent assortment of brews on tap, including some exciting microbreweries.

so good...
a lot of vegetarian restaurants have been popping up in la, but this is by far my favorite. plus the beer menu is stunning and there is always something new on tap.
