The Spotlight (closed) (Closed Permanently)

Real-life Hollywood down-and-out story
A notorious gay dive bar, the Spotlight almost needs to be experienced to be believed. Definitely has its clientele of regulars, though some say it has a reputation of attracting Hollywood's tweakers and the like.

hi im henry i was ceci's ex old man

when i got to hollywood i was homeless with no family living on the streets when i met bobbie gene mcgee you would know her as ceci just as i was about to go home to florida she took me to the spotlight .. i became a regular in 2004 through 2006 i made friends with owner and brian the bar keep ceci ron and i were escorts though we were classy about it we ould bring pizza for everyone and the spotlight became my family.. they accepted i was an escort and was bi they accepted i was ceci's old man and that i was loud and fun to be around .. i wish i could come back one day i find the spotlight and west hollywood to be the home i never had and it is because the people of the spotlight i came into my own and though im from florida i have never forgot what they all did for me .. i now live in texas but boy what i wouldnt give to be at the spot light one day again i would do anything .. to you people who judge the spotlight as a dive or think you got to use the buddy system the people of the spotlight are family they are safe and clean and friendly they will take care of you and you have no right to call my friends seedy though they have probably forgotten me by now i would gladly fight for the spotlight and its people and one day i hope to come home with a welcome of an old friend..

Gay bar ugly step sister

Though the drinks are cheap, cheap is actually how I felt after stumbling upon the Spotlight with a friend one night.

Always entertaining crowd!

Funny little gay bar in Hollywood. Filled with all day drunks, homeless, crack heads, hookers, cute hipsters, you name it! There is always something or someone to watch here! Jukebox bar, so feed it some dollars. It's so divey that it's hip. Good drinks, and bartenders are very appreciative of good tippers.

Really nice bar staff

I frequent the Spotlight not only 'cause it is close to home but also 'cause the staff is always happy to serve you. I enjoy watching the football games, the variety of music and the crowd. Its safe and comfortable and have never experienced anything negative. Come on in and have a drink. Its nice to meet new people.
