ABOUT THIS PERFORMANCE
Tonight we shine a light on three masterful A&M jazz albums from Quincy Jones – Walking in Space, Gula Matari and Smackwater Jack – from a peak creative time in his life that mirrored a transition in jazz history. Opening the evening are artists who are examples of Quincy’s prodigious ear for talent.
Tribute to Quincy Jones: “The A&M Years” was conceived by Tim Jackson, Artistic Director of the Monterey Jazz Festival, and premiered there on September 16, 2016.
Programs, artists, dates, prices and availability subject to change.
