WeHo's new Third Street Theatre goes for The Full Monty with its production of the hit Broadway musical comedy, inspired by the Oscar-nominated film. In Terrence McNally's stage adaptation, a group of unemployed steelworkers decide to make money by putting on a striptease act. But these aren't exactly your typical beefcakes, so what they end up creating is the most unforgettable display of flesh Buffalo, New York has ever seen -- all while conquering their inner demons. This touching, funny and crowd-pleasing show was nominated for ten Tony Awards in 2001, including Best Musical.
The Full Monty, a musical version of the 1997 film of the same name, follows six unemployed Buffalo steelworkers frustrated with money, women, and life without a paycheck. Determined to be the best Chippendale-style strippers Buffalo, NY has ever seen, the workaday men dance their way through a strip club act that ultimately teaches them what it really means to be a man. The Full Monty isn't just about showing off the outside; it's what’s on the inside that counts.
The cast of The Full Monty features: Will Collyer as Jerry, Owen Teague as Nathan, Shannon Warne as Pam, Ryan O’Connor as Dave, Erin Bennett as Georgie, Chip Phillips as Harold, Wendy Rosoff as Vicki, Morgan Reynolds as Malcolm, Justin Michael Wilcox as Ethan, Harrison White as Horse, Brian Durkin as Teddy, Jan Sheldrick as Jeanette, Todd Stroik as Keno, Paul Walling as Reg/Tony, Sydney Blair as Estelle, Suzanne Solomon as Susan and Nicki Jenkens as Joanie.
