Greetings Community,
A new wave of HIV prevention is here! Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) is a new HIV medication that has shown effective in HIV prevention. Unfortunately, not enough people from my communities (people of color) know about this life changing medication and I am trying to change that.
The Los Angeles PrEP Workgroup, APLA Health & Wellness, and The Wall Las Memorias will be hosting a FREE community forum on PrEP. This informative discussion will shed light on what PrEP is, how to access it, and who is currently taking it.
Quite often communities of color feel left out of the loop when it comes to new strategies for HIV prevention and this is your opportunity to ask questions and get involved. I strongly encourage everyone to attend.
The forum will take place on Wednesday, June 25th from 6:30pm - 8:30pm at The Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza, 3650 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90008.
Guest speakers include:
Dr. Jean Davis, PhD, DC, PA, AAHIVS (OASIS Clinic)
Terry L. Smith, MPA (APLA Health & Wellness)
Joshua DeMinter (HIV Prevention Advocate)
Facilitator:
Dontá Morrison
