Cave CrossFit, Los Angeles’ premiere CrossFit box, is asking the CrossFit community and the general public to come out on Saturday August 16, 2014 and show some skin to save skin at its first annual Tighty Whitey W.O.D. (Workout Of the Day). The energy-filled CrossFit competition will incorporate traditional CrossFit activities and will feature teams of two who will compete for the best WOD time all while in their underwear, courtesy of Lululemon. The general public is encouraged to come out and support their friends and families who will be competing to raise funds and awareness for The Melanoma Research Foundation.
In honor of competitive CrossFit athlete Amanda Miller who passed away in 2010 from Melanoma, the programmed WOD for the fundraiser will be team “AMANDA” a workout consisting of Muscle Ups and Snatches. Miller, who competed at the Mid-Atlantic Regionals and the CrossFit Games (the Super Bowl equivalent for CrossFit competitions), succumbed to the rapid spreading cancer in less than a year of detection.
The event is open to all levels of CrossFit athletes as well as the general public who is encouraged to come out and be athletic supporters.
