(2180 Ratings)
The place to be seen in WeHo

The large complex of indoor and outdoor areas has multiple bars, a plethora of candles, large fireplaces and comfy booths to enjoy sophisticated mixed drinks. Expect large weekend crowds.

More Straight than Gay, feels like Vegas

If you are looking for a gay club to dance the Abbey is probably not for you. The club is great looking and decent size with good drinks but that is about that. This place is more of a tourist trap than where the locals go to have fun. When I was there there were male dancers and one female dancer who had the most attention from male clientele just to give you a snapshot. The Abbey definitely lacks the vibe you would get from other smaller bars in the area. This club has more of a Las Vegas club feel than West Hollywood. Overall the Abbey would be a good starting point in a club crawl but move on quickly.

Is it a gay bar anymore?

I have been going to the abbey for years. It seems that the bar is become more and more straight and really ghetto. I went this last sunday 2/19/12 and so many straight couples acting stupid, making out, and griding, it was gross. Then later that night I think half of south central showed up with the attitude to match. Its not the same happy safe place it use to be..
