One last chance for survival

Like the Coral Sands, the San Vicente Inn have been a great place for wicked and enjoyable few days - in days past. I've stayed here about eight times over the last decade, but noticed a steady decline over the last three or four years. Apparently a new owner took over in late 2008. UNBELIEVABLY he has closed off the rear HALF of the property. The clothing optional pool, spa and steam room remain, as does the free continental breakfast. However on this 3-day LA stay I moved to the Coral Sands after the first night here - Why?... The tiny room's TV worked for about three channels only - and no porn. The shutters on the windows were falling out. The cheapest room was $100 night inc tax. The spa area had been ripped apart with all of the old decorations and nice lighting gone, water luke warm. Female cleaners are OK at cleaning but the cute all-guy cleaners in the old days kept the vibe alive! On the brighter side, the staff I encountered were pleasant and seemed eager to please - even though they could find a remote that worked for my TV - By the way, finding remotes to work for the umpteen different makes of TVs in the place is a memory I have going back many years! It seems incredible that such a magnificent block of land in such a great position and with such a great legacy has been let slide to such a degree - and so far the new owner seems to be making things worse. I really hope I'm wrong because this used to be my favorite place to stay in LA for many years! It gets one more try on my next visit.

What a dissapointment

I have stayed at this place a number of times over the years, however my last visit was the worst. They cancelled my booking (saying that I had cancelled it - neglecting to refund me my deposit). After finally getting a room (check your bookings a week before you arrive guys!!) The staff there couldn't care less and the place is just becoming run-down. Years ago, staff would sweep and hose all areas, plant new trees and plants and just generally keep the place in good repair. I even asked to speak to the owner (was there for a week, but never got a phone call). I'll give it one more go, maybe November of 2008.. and make my final decision.

Had lots of fun!

I just recently stayed there for an eight day trip and what a time! There were hot men. The only down side to the facility is the parking and the room. I had a room which was huge, but had a tv w/ two channels and the room was just really outdated. Even with all that it was a great experience and I plan on returning again next year.

Great gayborhood location

We have been to this place twice. Not because it is beautiful or has great service, but because of its location. It is the only resort in the West Hollywood area and a couple of blocks from the gay district on Santa Monica Boulevard. The nicest words to describe accommodations are that they are “pretty clean” and sparse. It has a clothing optional pool, hot tub and steam sauna. Would we go again? Maybe. But it is definitely a walk on the more seedy and divey side of resorts.

Expensive & Dirty

Having stayed here for an enjoyable few days 6 years ago , I was extremely dissapointed with the standard of cleanliness recently. It was filthy and unwelcoming and expensive. Never again!!
